The mission of NWOASN is to promote school health services, health education and a healthy school environment for the children of Northwest Ohio; to provide leadership, education, and support for the practices of school nursing; and to promote the interests of its members.

NWOASN was founded in 1978.   Any registered nurse holding school nurse licensure issued by the Ohio Department of Education or holding school nurse certification from the National Association Of School Nurses or the American Nurses’ Association and working in a school shall be eligible for active membership. 

Members of the NWOASN are classified as active, associate, retired, library, or honorary as described in the constitution of the organization.    

NWOASN sponsors three educational offerings during the school year, complete with CNE’s, with timely topics regarding the children that school nurses care for in schools.  As a member of the  organization you will be able to attend these at a discount rate and receive a quarterly newsletter.

 

Dues are $20.00 per year for active members, and $10.00 per year for associate, retired, library and honorary members.   They are to be paid in September and sent to the membership chairman.  Checks should be made out to NWOASN.
